The per-page cost of US $50 was derived from the experience gained through our pilot translations, as well as comparisons with existing models of compensation for translators.

What does US $50 cover?
Your donation of US $50 allows us to cover the expenses of our experienced team of translators to produce one page of the Extensive Sutra of Golden Light: The 29 and 31 Chapter Versions in English. It covers the following essential translation processes: 
  • Obtain and compare various versions of the Sutra in Tibetan
  • Study and think about meaning of the Sutra, the terms used, and any discrepancies among various versions
  • Consult Indian and Tibetan commentaries that explain the text
  • Research problems
  • Consult previous translations or academic studies
  • Consult advisors, Dharma teachers, and scholars about the Sutra
  • Receive commentaries on the Sutra from Tibetan Buddhist scholars

The Results of Making Offerings to the Sutra of Golden Light: 

“Earth Goddess, if any sentient being, in order to make offerings to this Sovereign King of Sūtras, the Sublime Golden Light, should decorate places elegantly, or even raise a single parasol, a single flag, or a single piece of cloth, then, Earth Goddess, those places that are constantly decorated will turn into immeasurable mansions made of the seven precious substances, adorned with every ornament, amid the seven classes of gods in the desire realm. When those beings transmigrate from this world of humans, they will be born in those immeasurable mansions made of the seven precious substances, and at that time, Earth Goddess, those beings will be reborn seven times in each of the immeasurable mansions made of the seven precious substances. They will experience inconceivable divine bliss.”
